Steve Hubbell - The Bay Property Team with EXiT Preferred Realty

A little over six weeks ago I was introduced to Steve Hubbell of The Bay Property Team with EXiT Preferred Realty in Chesapeake City, MD when he and I were paired together to be "success partners" as part of a course we are taking.  One of the wonderful things we get within EXiT is great training and support.  Steve and I are taking an intense 8 Week Training course on the integration of internet marketing within our Real Estate businesses.  Steve and I both agree that one of our favorite aspects of being part of being a a part of the EXiT family is the people you meet at the training and support sessions that are available to our agents.

In the past Steve was in the Financial Services industry as a Chief Operating Officer of a large Credit Union before he became a Real Estate Agent.  After many years of the same duties repeating themselves month after month . . . Reports and more Reports and more Reports there were lots of Board Meetings too.  After many years of this he realized that he wanted a something different. Steve wanted to be able to set his own schedule and be responsible for creating his own future.  To that end he and his wife Susan decided they would give Real Estate a shot.  What Steve liked most about the Real Estate business is that we help people realize  their dreams.  The task is also different each time we meet new clients and go through each transaction.  Steve said "You are never bored in this business".  I agree there too, as everyday is different from the last.

I asked Steve - "What do you find as the biggest challenge in your market area as a Real Estate Agent?"  He replied - "Keeping focused on getting new business."  When we get busy in the Real Estate business it is way to easy to stop prospecting in order to meet our current client's needs and then we end up with no new listings.  We then have to start from the beginning and rebuild our inventory back up.  As Real Estate Agents we have to recognize when we need additional help with clients and take action to continue to prospect to keep our pipeline full and grow our business.

Outside of Real Estate Steve enjoys being out on the water.  "Whether it is going to the beach or going out on the boat, there’s nothing more relaxing then being on the water" Steve says.  "That’s why we moved here and love helping our clients find their own Waterfront Property in Cecil County MD and Kent County MD."  Steve also enjoys playing golf about once a week.  He gets together with his two Brother-in-laws and they play a round now and again.  It keeps their families connected.
